Thunderbolt 5 supports bidirectional data transfer at up to 80 Gbps, compared with up to 40 Gbps for Thunderbolt 4. For display-intensive workloads, Bandwidth Boost can provide bandwidth of up to 120 Gbps, enabling smoother use of high-resolution displays and high-speed storage. When used with Thunderbolt 5 devices, it also supports more advanced display configurations, such as connecting two 8K displays simultaneously.
