The CFexpress 4.0 standard, recently announced by the CompactFlash Association (CFA) on August 28, 2023, represents a significant advancement over its predecessor, CFexpress 2.0. While ensuring backward compatibility with CFexpress 2.0, CFexpress 4.0 elevates the card’s interface speed from the conventional PCIe 3.0 to the high-speed PCIe 4.0.
|Standard||Maximum Theoretical Throughput|
|CFexpress 2.0||2 GB/s|
|CFexpress 4.0||4 GB/s|
The CFexpress 4.0 memory card contributes to High-Speed backing up captured data in recent high-demand scenarios such as shooting 8K videos and capturing high-resolution still images.
Moreover, Nextorage is concurrently working on the development of content production workflow products to unleash the full potential of CFexpress 4.0 Type B memory cards, with the goal of introducing these solutions to the market by mid-2024.
Further details about these products will be announced at InterBEE, scheduled to take place from November 15, 2023. Please note that the information provided is based on current projections and is subject to change without notice.
