KOJI UEDA

He studied photography and videography in San Francisco, USA, and worked on shooting of commercials and documentaries. After returning to Japan, he worked as an assistant to photographer Shinichi Hanawa and then began his career as a photographer and videographer. He quickly adopts new technologies and incorporates them into his photography and video work. Since 2014, he has been using drones for his shoots, and starting in 2022, he has also been creating works with a large-format film camera. He currently captures cities and landscapes worldwide for magazines and advertising projects as part of his life’s work. In addition to photography, he gives lectures, writes, and teaches at Nikon College and the LUMIX Academy. He also runs a YouTube channel called Photographers Couple: Uedas, where he shares information on photography, travel, and cameras. Advisor for Nikkor Club, instructor at Nikon College and LUMIX Academy, Hasselblad 2015 local ambassador, Profoto trainer, Datacolor ambassador, and a full member of the Japan Photographers Society (JPS).
